How we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit this site or contact us.

This policy describes how Díaz Peritajes (operated by Ing. José Alberto Díaz V., CFIA-licensed appraiser) collects, uses, and protects the personal data of individuals who visit our website or contact us through it.

2.1. Data you provide voluntarily

When you complete our contact form we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Message or inquiry

If you contact us by email, WhatsApp, or phone call, we process the data you share through those channels.

2.2. Data collected automatically

When you visit the site, the following data is automatically recorded through cookies and similar technologies:

  • Pages visited, time on page, and traffic source
  • Device type, operating system, and browser
  • Interactions with site elements (WhatsApp clicks, form submissions)
  • Anonymized IP address

3. Purposes of Processing

We use your personal data to:

  • Respond to your inquiry or quote request
  • Provide the professional appraisal or expert assessment service you requested
  • Send updates on the status of your request
  • Improve the quality of the site through statistical analysis
  • Show targeted advertising and measure the effectiveness of our Google campaigns
  • Comply with legal, contractual, and professional obligations

We process your data under the following legal bases, in accordance with Costa Rica Law 8968 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Consent: by submitting the form, clicking WhatsApp links, or continuing to browse the site, you consent to the processing described herein.
  • Pre-contractual and contractual performance: to respond to your inquiry and, where applicable, provide the contracted appraisal service.
  • Legitimate interest: to improve the browsing experience and analyze aggregate site usage.

5. Third Parties with Whom Data Is Shared

Your data may be shared with the following service providers, acting as data processors:

  • Google LLC (United States): for traffic analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google Ads, including remarketing and Customer Match based on conversion data).
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States): measurement and advertising on Facebook and Instagram through the Meta Pixel, which records site visits and contacts (taps on WhatsApp, phone or email and form submissions) under a pseudonymous identifier.
  • Web3Forms: processing the submission of our contact form to our email inbox.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): site hosting and content delivery network (CDN).

We do not sell or trade your personal data to third parties. The providers listed above process the data solely for the agreed-upon technical purposes.

6. Google Ads Customer Match

We use Google Ads Customer Match features to show relevant ads to people who have shown interest in our services. Google may create audience lists based on conversion events recorded on the site (such as form submissions or WhatsApp clicks) to display impactful, personalized ads to existing and similar potential customers as they browse Google sites and partner properties.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The site uses the following cookies:

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): _ga and _ga_*, which measure aggregate site usage.
  • Advertising cookies (Google Ads): _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc, which allow attribution of conversions to ad campaigns.
  • Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel): _fbp and, if you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad, _fbc: they measure Meta ads and allow ads to be shown to people who visited the site. You can manage the ads you see in the ad settings of your Facebook or Instagram account.

You can block or delete these cookies from your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect site functionality but will limit the information we have about aggregate usage.

8. Data Retention

  • Contact form data: retained for up to 2 years from the last contact, unless an active professional relationship or legal obligation requires a longer period.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months (as configured in the account).
  • Contractual and tax data from a contracted appraisal: as required by Costa Rican tax and professional regulations.

9. Your Rights

Under Costa Rica Law 8968 (and GDPR where applicable), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your data when it is no longer necessary
  • Object to the processing of your data for specific purposes, including personalized advertising
  • Withdraw previously granted consent
  • Data portability (under GDPR, for EU residents)

To exercise these rights, email us at info@diazperitajes.com with a clear description of your request. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable regulations.

If you believe your rights have not been properly addressed, you may file a complaint with the Costa Rican Data Protection Agency (PRODHAB), or with the competent data protection authority of your country of residence.

10. Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to the email inbox where we receive form submissions is protected by Google Workspace authentication.

11. Children's Privacy

Our services are directed at individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have received data from a minor without parental authorization, we will delete it.

12. International Data Transfers

Some of our providers (Google, Cloudflare, Web3Forms) store data on servers located outside Costa Rica, primarily in the United States. These providers apply their own contractual clauses and compliance mechanisms to ensure an adequate level of protection.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical, or service changes. The last updated date appears at the top of this document. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
