What is a machinery and equipment appraisal?
It is a technical study that determines the fair market value of industrial machinery, heavy equipment, vehicle fleets, and other tangible business assets. This type of valuation requires specialized knowledge in both engineering and the industrial asset market, as it must consider factors such as mechanical condition, remaining useful life, depreciation, technological obsolescence, and market conditions.
When is this appraisal needed?
Machinery and equipment valuation is necessary for multiple purposes: insurance policies (determining insurable value), business or asset sales, mergers and acquisitions, accounting records and fixed asset revaluations, liquidation proceedings, credit guarantees for financial institutions, and tax declarations before the Ministry of Finance.
What types of assets do we appraise?
We perform appraisals of construction machinery (excavators, backhoes, compactors), industrial equipment (lathes, presses, production lines), vehicle fleets, medical and laboratory equipment, agricultural equipment, generators and power plants, and any tangible asset requiring a professional value determination.
Valuation methodology
We apply the three internationally recognized methodologies as appropriate: the market approach (comparison with recent transactions of similar equipment), the cost approach (replacement cost minus accumulated depreciation), and the income approach (the asset's ability to generate economic flows). The report details the methodology used and technically supports the determined value.
